Samsung SDS, first of all, will take over global logistics businesses that have directly been controlled by foreign branches of SE. IT & consulting will be their main business items.

The company has already completed or is in the process of founding subsidiary under the name of Samsung SDS Global SCL(Supply Chain Logistics) in Beijing China, Malaysia, Philippine and Thailand.

It ultimately aims to let Samsung SDS control overseas logistics service for SE, the world's electronic giant. Main agent of contract, which was formerly a foreign branch of SE, will turn into Samsung SDS Global SCL. Nevertheless, the period of a contract ensured by SE earlier will be guaranteed.

Looking at this trend, Samsung SDS Global SCL will have an addition to their overseas branches this year. The company has a plan to conduct business over the regions where Samsung group companies have their own foreign branches.

A staff in the company said "There is no plan to establish further subsidiary in other than 4 regions for now. But we are thinking about extending overseas branch for the future."

IT logistics industry sources predict that starting with Mexico(SAMEX, SE Mexico corporation) Samsung SDS Global SCL will expand to Europe, CIS, North and South American regions.

Samsung SDS is absorbed in recruiting new staff preparing for expansion of overseas offices. It is known that recruiting is currently on progress to set up Samsung SDS Global SCL Indonesia.

Meantime, Samsung SDS is pushing ahead with 4 party logistics(4PL) service combining IT with logistics which provides delivery, warehousing, distribution and processing service based on SCM(Supply Chain Management) competence.

Last year Samsung SDS stepped into logistics IT area in line with launching integrated SCL platform named 'CELLO'. The provision of logistics IT service to group companies abroad will probably warm up from this year.
